Bali North / East_16-21 Feb

So far, we have been too busy to edit a proper accompanying text to the pictures published. Yes, traveling is a full time job. Even though most of our destinations were enjoyable and worth a trip, we move through a foreign country, we get in touch with a foreign culture and our senses are constantly confronted with different stimuli. That is or can be demanding!

It is due to those experiences that we squeezed in a stay at Lovina Beach in the north of Bali and a stay at Amed in the east of the island. As I suffered from a „Bali Belly“ at that time, the stop at Lovina Beach turned out to be a good idea.

Lovina Beach in the north has been a hippie base such as other places on Bali. According to our guide, the hippies called the north coast, where dolphins can be seen and where the see is quite strong „Love-in-all“, which after years became „Lovina“. As the Indonesians do not know spelling „f“ and „v“, our driver drove to „Lopina“. We spent two beautiful days at The Hamsa. The area of Lovina Beach itself is not very much attractive, though our hotel was.

Amed in the east of Bali is famous for its deeply black beaches and for snorkeling. You should ask Robert, as I didn´t dare jumping into the rough sea only to see “some fish”. Instead of sleeping next to the pool all day, we invested one day to go and see the famous Pura Besakih, the mother of all hindu temples on Bali. The Pura was worth it, the trip on our motorbike was a nightmare;-)
